Policies & Courtesies
Non-Smoking Property
Smoking is NOT allowed on the property. While some people will agree to only smoke outdoors, the smell of smoke clings to clothing and hair, which translates onto furniture, towels, and bedding. We do not rent to smokers for this reason. This is one rule that will cost you your security deposit if the smell of smoke is left behind.
No Pets or Animals
While we love pets, and have a wonderful West Highland Terrier of our own, the lake house is strictly off limits to any other pets. No exceptions will be made, and security deposits will be forfeited if we discover a pet.
Scents and Fragrances
Since many people are highly sensitive to strong scents please be respectful of your use of scented fragrances, oil based perfumes, colognes, and body sprays - as the scent is very difficult to remove from furniture fabrics, linens., towels, etc.
Visitors
Due to the size and limitations of the home’s septic system and well we have to enforce a 6-person maximum rule.

Quiet Hours
We love our neighbors and would like them to love us as well. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Voices travel much further when you're on a lake, so please keep voices, music and television volume down between these hours.

Close windows when raining or when you're not home
​
Leaving windows open when you’re gone could prove to be a bad idea if it starts to rain. Many of the windows in the house crank out, and a few of these windows currently have broken crank shafts. We are in the process of having the cranks replaces or the windows replaced, but in the meantime if you can’t close one of the windows that you opened you may have to remove the screen and pull the window closed while turning the crank. This is especially true of the small window in the Master Bath next to the toilet.

Snow / Winter Weather

For storms that drop more than 4" of snow I will have the driveway cleared once the snow has stopped. If less than 4" of snow has fallen, guests will find a snow shovel in the garage. If the front walk gets icy you will find ice melt pellets in the front hall closet, next to the front door. ONLY use ice melt pellets on our concrete front walk.
Please NEVER use ice melt on the deck, as it would damage the composite material.

Exterior Cameras

We have installed two exterior cameras for safety purposes, to monitor the lake levels during & after rain storms, and to ensure that our rental policies are being upheld. One covers the driveway & front yard area while the other covers the lake area and a small portion of the back yard..
