FIREPLACE
 

The lake house features two gas fireplaces, one in the living room and one on the lower level. A remote control on the mantel in the livingroom is used to turn on or off the fireplace.    Never leave the fireplace unattended when on, and never leave the fireplace on overnight.

 

When the fireplace is first turned on, you may notice a slight smell of propane (actually the scent they put into propane so that we can smell it).  This is normal and should go away within a few minutes.   If at any other time you smell propane, regardless of whether the fireplace is on, please turn off the fireplace and call the fire department (603) 652-4201 and the property owner, Ron Risman (603) 339-2187.

TELEVISION

The living room features a new Vizio 55" (4K) Flat Panel TV with
Cable TV, DVD Player, and Wi-Fi streaming via Chromecast, Netflix*, Amazon*,

Chromecast Streaming (Switch TV Input to SmartCast)

Sign in to your Netflix or Amazon Prime account or watch free movies on Crackle and SmartCast.  You may also stream movies, photos and shows directly from your Smartphone or tablet.   Many iOS and Android apps natively support Chromecast, but you may cast other content by downloading the Google Home app from the app store.

These APPS all support streaming to a Chromecast device:
Netflix, Crackle, Watch ABC, YouTube, Discover Go, FOX Now, HBO Go, HBO Now, Hulu Plus, iHeartRadio, Pandora, TED, and Watch TBS.

DVD Video (Switch TV Input to DVD)

The living room features a DVD player with a wide selection of movies located in the left cabinet under the television. Please feel free to watch any of the movies, they are here for your enjoyment.  When finished please remember to place the movie back in its original DVD jacket and back into the cabinet.

 

Sony HT-CT80 Audio Soundbar (in front of TV)

Play music from the Amazon Echo Dot through the Sony Soundbar by clicking the "bluetooth" icon on the Sony remote and saying "Alexa, connect speaker"

You may also turn on the Soundbar for improved TV audio.  Press the "Optical" button on the Sony Soundbar or by using the Sony remote control.  With the soundbar on you'll have to control the TV volume using Sony Soundbar remote control.

STREAMING MUSIC with Amazon Echo Dot

On the end table in the living room is an Amazon Echo

Dot waiting to play music for you or answer questions

about the area and more.   To use the echo, just say the

wake up word “ALEXA” follow by your question.  We

also subscribe to Amazon Unlimited Music streaming so

feel free to ask her to play any song, genre, or artist you can think of.

Flexbrew Coffee / Tea Maker
(Product Manual)
In the kitchen you'll find the highly reviewed

Hamilton Beach FlexBrew coffee maker, that 

will allow you to brew a single cup (K-Cups) or

a full pot of fresh ground coffee.  On mornings

when you want to enjoy cup after cup, the carafe

side makes a full 12-cup pot. 

 

 

 

 

Using K-Cups
 

• Fill reservoir with no more than 10oz of water

• Press BREW OPTIONS button and select the “cup: icon

• Remove brew basket and place K-Cup into holder

• Press down on edge of the K-Cup until the pack snaps into place

  and hole is punched in the bottom

• Press down on the brew basket handle to lock and puncture the foil lid on the pack

• Ensure the multilevel / flip cup rest is firmly secured into it.

• To remove cup rest: Push up cup rest; tilt up. Push down to release.

• Place mug underneath the K-Cup reservoir

• Press On/OFF bottom to turn on the coffee maker
   

Use Carafe Side
 

• Rotate dial to the left to select CARAFE

• Press BREW OPTIONS button to select REGULAR or BOLD

• Place cupcake-style paper filter into the Brew Basket

• Please carafe with lid on the warming plate

Hot Water for Tea
 

• Brew hot water without paper filter or coffee grounds.

 

Washer and Dryer

Product Manual

The washer and dryer are located in the

utility room on the lower level, to the left

of the fireplace.   Please note that there is

currently a garden hose that runs across the

floor for the dehumidifier.  Please be careful

not to trip on the hose.
 

Jacuzzi Spa Tub (Product Manual)

The Jacuzzi Tub, located in the Master Bedroom

En Suite, is a great way to relax.    Make sure you 

fill the tub at least 1" above the highest jet,

otherwise the whirlpool jets will not turn on.  

'The tub has a built-in heater to help maintain

the water temperature without having to add
more hot water.  The heater only works while the

jets are on.

​

The home features an 80 gallon water tank, and the Jacuzzi Tub probably takes 70 galloons of water to fill.  If two or three others in your group have taken showers in the morning, you will want to wait a couple of hours for the hot water tank to reheat new water, otherwise you may run out when filling the tub.

​

 

Gas Fire Pit (Spring through Fall)

​

Important:  Let the fire pit cool down before putting the

cover back on.  Please make sure to cover it before it rains. 

If rain is imminent in the forecast please do not use the

fire pit as it may not have time to cool before it needs to

be covered.      The fire pit bowl gets very hot, so please

do not allow children near it without adult supervision.     

Please refill the 20 lb propane tank on the last full day of

of your stay.  You may bring it to Milton Hardware

(they close at 5pm) to have it filled or swapped. Typically, you'll get about  7 hours of use from a full tank of propane when the fire pit is set to HIGH or about 11 hours when set to low.   
 

You can roast marshmallows over the fire pit, being careful not to let marshmallows fall onto the lava rocks.   It's more fun to let them fall into your mouth instead.   :-)

​

NEVER leave the gas fire pit on while unattended.   And always make sure it has cooled and is covered before leaving the house.

​

IMPORTANT USE INSTRUCTIONS
 

1. Ensure Gas Valve on Fire Pit is set to OFF

2. SLOWLY turn valve on Propane tank to the "Open" position.

3. Ignite long handled lighter or match close to the rocks of the firepit, then turn
   the Fire Pit gas control knob to the "On" or fire position.

4. Adjust Fire Pit gas control knob to desired flame height (HIGH or LOW).
   
   TURN OFF PROPANE TANK FIRST when shutting down the fire.   Then turn 
   the Fire Pit gas control knob to "OFF"  This process allows any left over propane
   that might be in the line to escape through the fire pit before turning it to OFF.
   
   LET THE FIRE PIT COOL DOWN to touch before replacing the cover and rubber maid top lid.  
   
   NEVER USE THE FIRE PIT IF RAIN IS IMMINENT.  The firepit will rust if rain falls into it.   Please check the local weather radar if you are unsure.   You will want to give enough time for the fire pit to cool down in order to get it covered before it rains. 
   
   THE SIDES AND TOP OF THE FIRE PIT GET EXTREMELY HOT.
   Please do not bend or reach over the fire pit during operation.  When turned away from the fire pit please make sure to keep your distance from the fire pit, so that you do not bump into it or fall into it.   
   
   STAY AT LEAST 2 FEET AWAY FROM FIRE PIT  during operation.
   
   CHILDREN must always be accompanied by an ADULT during use of the fire pit

Hair Dryers

There are two hair dryers, one in each of the upstairs bathrooms.

Kayaks and Pedal Boat

There are two kayaks and a pedal boat for you to enjoy.

Please note that all boating and swimming is done

at your own risk.   

 

Paddles and a four life vests can be found on the lower

level  of the home.  The Kayaks are tied up to the dock. 

We have 3 adult life jackets (Large, Small, and Universal),

and one youth (50-90 lbs) life jacket.   Our life jackets are

here as a  convenience, so if you have our own please

bring them to ensure a proper fit.

If rain is in the forecast we highly recommend placing the kayaks on the dock upside down and covering the pedal boat (unlatch bimini cover from front and lay it back on the boat).   It's somewhat of a pain to put the cover on the pedal boat, but even more of a pain to try to drain the water out of it.

Flameless Candles

There are five flameless candles on the hearth in the living room.  A small remote control on the fireplace mantle is used to turn these LED candles on and off.  If the remote doesn’t respond try getting a little closer to the candles and try again.   By getting closer to the candles you'll also be able to turn them on and off individually, setting the mood just the way you like it.  

Three candles around the Jacuzzi spa tub in the Master Bedroom En Suite are controlled by a switch underneath each candle.

Board Games

In the hall closet you’ll find Monopoly, and on the left side of the TV cabinet you’ll find Pente and Scrabble, along with two decks of cards.
